Another Batman Fan Film

By way of Topless Robot, an excellent blog that I read every weekday, I bring you another Batman Fan Film. While the production values on this film are quite high, it is done in the same vein as any of the Frank Miller films, it is not exactly a Batman film. It does not focus on Batman and instead on a simple street thug. The film is quite dark, both visually and in the content, but tells an interesting story. There are a number of cameos in the film by a couple of main villains from the Batman universe. The makeup in the short film is quite good and once again shows that though this is a fan made film, the production values are quite high. Now for the kicker, it is French. You read that correctly. This film is a French made film so obviously there are going to be subtitles. I am not fluent in French, but it seemed like there were a couple of times when the subtitles were slightly off the mark. Making it a little difficult to figure out what exactly was happening. If you can get past the fact that this film is French, then I think you will enjoy it immensely. Terminator Salvation: Salvation for the series

In one of my previous posts I was concerned about the fate of the tremendously popular Terminator series. I have to say that I was very pleased with this new installment. Christian Bale did use his Batman voice for his John Connor voice, but his performance was pretty powerful. I was very impressed with Sam Worthington's portrayal of Marcus Wright. I believe that he stole the scene from Bale in almost every scene and it makes it all the more incredible that he was an unknown before this film!
This film had incredible special effects and non stop action! The storyline was very solid and any fan of the series will be able to spot out many of the homages to the previous films such as, music from the Guns n Roses featured in T2 with young John Connor, the scar that John Connor gets post Judgment Day and more! I was also impressed with the amount of heart and emotion that this film had that was very much absent from Mostow's T3. Cameron's T2 was the first film that depicted a machine learning the value of human life and Salvation went back to Cameron roots to add this powerful theme back into the formula of the film!
Definitely a great film filled with some great moments and certainly a crowd pleaser for any Terminator fan. Now this series has a completely new direction to go into and I hope the series will continue on in this new and highly entertaining style. The post apocalyptic world that Cameron depicted in the first Terminator is very much alive and incredible in this powerful fourth chapter of the series. Good work McG!

Arkham: A fan made video clip

For anyone who loves Batman, especially the last movie with Heath Ledger as the Joker, this video is something you need to see. Not only is it an awesome experience, despite being roughly two and a half minutes long, but the dialog is excellent. This video does not do anything extraordinary in the way of visuals, although the ending is quite nice, it is the dialog between the two characters that really make this video shine. Enjoy this video in all of its glory.
